Classic Mapquest Gas Prices

I imagine that AOL decided to keep the Mapquest classic website available because a lot of people feel more comfortable and are more used to the older version of the site. Apart from driving directions, another very popular and useful feature/tool that the site has is its gas price finder, which you can use in any town, city, or state to find the lowest gas prices near your location.

Mapquest allows users to find gas prices for different types of fuel including gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuels such as biodiesel, CNG, hydrogen, E-85, electric, LNG, and LPG just to mention a few. To access Mapquest's new gas price finder go to gasprices.mapquest.com, however, I know for fact that most people reading this are actually looking for the classic version. If that's the case and you definitely want to use the old calculator then head over to classic.gasprices.mapquest.com.

To find low gas prices near your location simply select fuel type from the dropdown menu, enter an address or intersection, followed by city, state, and zip code, then click on "search" and wait for the results. Map Quest will automatically show you all the gas stations near your location on the map, and you can easily get directions to any of those gas stations by selecting the routing option.

On the classic gas prices site you'll see the lowest and highest gas prices at the top of the page, Map Quest will only show you the highest and lowest local prices, you can swith to the National gas prices view by clicking on "Show National".

The classic gas price calculator is also available at the old site, but I will talk about that on the next post because it's kind of late where I live and I really need to get some sleep. I hope this information was what you were looking for, if you still have doubts or feel confused please drop me a message in the comments area and I'll help you out!

MapQuest Walking Directions

One of the best features that the "new" Mapquest site has is walking directions, I still call it "new" Map Quest so you can understand when I'm talking about the redesigned more modern version and not the classic version. I've heard a lot of people ask about Mapquest classic walking directions, most people looking for that information have a hard time finding it, most of them never do.

The reason why most people never find a way to get walking directions at the classic site is that the feature simply isn't there, so you won't be able to use it no matter what you do, unless of course, you use driving directions for walking instructions instead.

To get walking directions at the new site simply go to Mapquest.com, click on get directions, then click on the walking man icon, enter your  locations, click on get directions and then wait a couple of seconds for the route to be displayed on the map, turn by turn directions will be shown on the left column.

MapQuest Classic Directions

To get MapQuest classic directions go to classic.mapquest.com. The previous link will take you to the classic Map Quest website, which, as you can see, is still available but on another location. Now I might be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure that the old site doesn't provide walking directions, obviously biking and transit directions aren't available either. I looked everywhere and I couldn't find those options. Check out the picture below to see the available directions options
On the other Mapquest classic driving directions are just as good and easy to use as you remember them. The process is a bit longer when compared to the new Map Quest, because you have to enter more information like zip code, state, city, address, etc, but I'm sure that some people love it that way. When you get directions on the classic site you'll see the route on the map located in the upper area of your screen, below the map you'll get your turn by turn driving directions. The Map Quest classic website is easy to use, directions are accurate, maps are high quality, the site simply rocks!
